Final Song of the Sirens.

Today is the final day of the Samhain's Sirens project.

This has been such an amazing journey,  and I am sitting here with tears in my eyes after reading the final entry for the year.

I have met some amazing men and women on this venture, and I am so thankful that I got to be a part of this. I am so looking forward to next year when we do it all over again.

Here we are, the final day of the month, and also the final regular posting from Samhain's Sirens! It has been a great fun filled month, and I am so thankful to have been a part of it!

This, That, and the other Thing. NaBloWriMo Day 30

Happy..er..what day it is? Tuesday! Yes, happy Tuesday everyone!

First and foremost, my candles still burn, and love and protection and healing are still being sent to those who have been and are being affected by Sandy. She has been downgraded, but by no means is it over yet. My heart is with you all.

Due to the storm, we are postponing the final few days of the Samhain's Sirens posts, to wait for things to become more stable. Once things have returned to whatever normal will be, we will pick up where we left off. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

In other news, there is only three more days until my interview with Winston Emerson, author of The Object: Book One. I finalized everything today and we are all set to publish here on November second. I am so very excited and can't wait to share it with all of you.

As a reminder, you can help out with the book launch and score some pretty awesome stuff by helping out with the Kickstarter campaign. There is 5 hours left and every little bit helps!

Only one more day left of NaBloWriMo and I am proud to say that I have not missed a day yet! This has been a lot of fun, and while I had to post a few bare minimum entries, I still posted every day! Yay me!


Here at home, I am finalizing my Samhain plans. I have a blog post to write tomorrow about what Samhain means to me, and Jack has been gathering firewood all week for me so I can have a big bonfire as darkness falls. First, we will have some family time, we are going to roast some hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire, and have some fun, and then I am running Jack and Alex inside so I can preform my first Samhain ritual in over 6 years. I usually do things in my head, but as this has been a hell of a year, and still is, I am going outside of myself for a change. I have letters to write, and to burn, and a lot of releasing to do. Rituals usually bug the crap out of me, I do not like doing them, but I am really looking forward to this one. Lucky for me, the weather has turned crisp and cold at night, so the weather should be perfect for the fire and for what I want to do. I might write more about it after it happens, or I may keep it to myself, I have not decided yet. I guess I will see how I feel about it after I am done.

So, the next few days will be a bit busy, and I am so looking forward to Thursday...I am not going to write a damn thing, so I am letting you know ahead of time lol. I have posted more here this month than I have in the last year, and Bella needs a break. After the interview posts, I will have had a couple of days off from writing, and then I intend to jump into the personal projects I am going to do, especially the posts I have in mind for Planet Buddha. It has been far to long since I posted over there and I need to fix that.

I will still be around on the Fan Page daily, so head over there if you want to keep up.

The Beginning of the End...

Here we are, the final week of the Samhain's Sirens Project. It has been a great month, with some really great blog posts, crafts, music, recipes, and of course, some awesome giveaways, of which I have been lucky enough to win two of!

Today Kourtney kicks us off with a really awesome post about her personal celebration of Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, a Spanish celebration of honoring our ancestors. One of the things she says I totally agree with, and that is what started out as decor on sugar skulls has transformed into amazing works of art. I love the imagery that is associated with the skulls, I mean look at this picture. It is stunningly gorgeous.

Kourtney writes a very interesting post about how she feels and what she and her family do to honor her loved ones who have passed on, and it also made me think about how I will be celebrating this year, which is not something I have done in some time. I will write about that in my NaBloWriMo post this afternoon/evening.

There is a recipe for sugar skulls today, which are so cute to me. I wish I had a mold, I would love to make them! I do not think I am talented enough to shape them by hand lol. The recipe is super easy!

The craft of the day is adorable, and it is something I have done with Alex in the past. A pasta skeleton!

Today's giveaway is a lush one. Twysted Thystle is giving away some awesome body products that I would loooove to have. I really want to try her Ginger line of products.

Craft-Tacular Saturday! NaWriBloMo Day 20

Good morning everyone! It is time for another edition of Craft-Tacular  Saturday over at Samhain's Sirens!

Today, Sosanna is showing us how to make dream catchers, which is one of my favorite things in my house. I have several, one in each window of my house in fact; a giant one on my bedroom wall, and a very special one given to me by my spirit sister that hangs in my living room.

 Jack and I both have a lot of Indian blood in us, as his Mother was 3/4 Native American and my Dad was 3/4 as well, so Native American culture and history are important to us and that manifests itself in our house, even if I missed all the coloring  lol. ( The TEENY amount of Irish Blood I have in me decided to make itself known above all else! At least Jack has very dark hair and very dark and tanned skin, even if he did get his ice blue eyes from his father lol. )

In a Haunted State

Good Monday Morning my lovelies!

I hope you enjoyed your weekend. I certainly did for the most part. I slept quite a bit and got to do something a little fun, but I will write about all that in my post later today.

NaBloWriMo Day 3: Just a little tired.....

Good afternoon folks. I am just a little tired today. The last couple of weeks of doom seem to be getting better. Jack is more like himself mentally, and not such a bear. The stress is less. Combined with all the excitement of the last few days, I am just a wee bit tired.

I am kind of taking it easy today. I did some light cleaning this morning, and later I have to figure out what to do for dinner. I blogged about the Sirens post this morning, as I will daily, and now it has been raining for the last hour, so all I want to do is curl up with my book and chill for a while.

Of course that will not be happening as I have to go get Alex off the bus in about 20 minutes, and then comes homework and dinner prep and all that good stuff, but hey, a girl can dream right?


Tomorrow I intend to make an announcement that has me pretty excited. I have an opportunity to do something totally awesome in my opinion, and I look forward to sharing it with you all.

So consider today a little bit of a cop out post. I will even post a pretty picture for you to look at, how about that?
