The Beginning of the End...

Here we are, the final week of the Samhain's Sirens Project. It has been a great month, with some really great blog posts, crafts, music, recipes, and of course, some awesome giveaways, of which I have been lucky enough to win two of!

Today Kourtney kicks us off with a really awesome post about her personal celebration of Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, a Spanish celebration of honoring our ancestors. One of the things she says I totally agree with, and that is what started out as decor on sugar skulls has transformed into amazing works of art. I love the imagery that is associated with the skulls, I mean look at this picture. It is stunningly gorgeous.

Kourtney writes a very interesting post about how she feels and what she and her family do to honor her loved ones who have passed on, and it also made me think about how I will be celebrating this year, which is not something I have done in some time. I will write about that in my NaBloWriMo post this afternoon/evening.

There is a recipe for sugar skulls today, which are so cute to me. I wish I had a mold, I would love to make them! I do not think I am talented enough to shape them by hand lol. The recipe is super easy!

The craft of the day is adorable, and it is something I have done with Alex in the past. A pasta skeleton!

Today's giveaway is a lush one. Twysted Thystle is giving away some awesome body products that I would loooove to have. I really want to try her Ginger line of products.

The  song  of the day is an old favorite of mine, so  pop on over and check out TODAY'S POST and join in on all the fun! Time is running out, so get those entries in for the daily giveaways, which adds your name to the drawing for the grand prize giveaway in just a couple of days!

I hope you all have a wonderful day, and prayers of safety going out to all my upper East Cost people.

Craft-Tacular Saturday! NaWriBloMo Day 20

Good morning everyone! It is time for another edition of Craft-Tacular  Saturday over at Samhain's Sirens!

Today, Sosanna is showing us how to make dream catchers, which is one of my favorite things in my house. I have several, one in each window of my house in fact; a giant one on my bedroom wall, and a very special one given to me by my spirit sister that hangs in my living room.

Jack and I both have a lot of Indian blood in us, as his Mother was 3/4 Native American and my Dad was 3/4 as well, so Native American culture and history are important to us and that manifests itself in our house, even if I missed all the coloring  lol. ( The TEENY amount of Irish Blood I have in me decided to make itself known above all else! At least Jack has very dark hair and very dark and tanned skin, even if he did get his ice blue eyes from his father lol. )

Today's giveaway is for this dream catcher that Sosanna made:

Another one of the good things about Craft-Tacular Saturdays is that the giveaway rules are super simple, so be sure to pop over and learn how to make your own dream catcher, and enter to win this one while you are there!

There is a freaking adorable recipe of the day! These little Frankenstein cookies are just too damn cute!!

The song of the day is by Loreena Mckennitt, who never fails to put me in a witchy and magical mood!

So pop over and check out the BLOG POST  and see all the goodies that Sosanna has for us today!

Have a great day folks!

Help us Kickstart The Object: Book One!

Good morning everyone!

I am sharing a unique opportunity with you all today.

As you know, in the next couple of weeks, November 2nd to be exact, I will be sharing my interview of Winston Chad Emerson, author of The Object:Book One, with you all. Now that I have read everything he has offered to the public to read, ( The Drought, A Circle in the Woods, and The Object web series ) I can tell you that I am a HUGE fan and I am excited to be a part of the launching of his latest book.

Winston, with musician Matt Stillwell, ( who composes the musical score for The Object web series ) and illustrator, artist Justin Comley, are smack in the middle of a promotion campaign for The Object: Book One, and they could use our help. They have started a Kickstarter campaign to help with the cost of a very important book tour for their upcoming release of The Object: Book One.

They have a very modest goal of $1000, which will provide them with the capital needed up front for publishing costs, travel expenses, food, gas, and placing a bulk order (150 copies) of the paperback version of The Object: Book One, of which some will be sent out to reward recipients. The rest will be sold, sent to reviewers, and used for promotional giveaways. After all, book tours do not work if you have no book to sell to your readers, right?

The team has been hard at work for 6 months preparing, planning, and promoting this project, and now it is time for all that hard work to pay off. The book release is set for November 1st, with the book tour shortly thereafter.

You can be a part of this awesome project, and in return for your donation, there are some pretty awesome rewards! Check this out:

#1. For a pledge of just $3, you will get a digital copy of The Object: Book One in any ereader format, or a PDF copy if you do not have an ereader. (You can use this option to pre-order your digital copy of the book!)

#2. For a pledge of $15 you get a paperback copy of The Object: Book One. ( You can use this option to pre-order the paperback version of the book! )

#3. For a pledge of $35 you get a signed paperback copy of The Object: Book One and A Circle in the Woods!

#4. For a pledge of $100 you get the signed books above and two surprise books written by friends of The Object!

#5. For a pledge of $250, you get reward #3, plus FIVE surprise books written by friends of The Object, your name in the Acknowledgements of The Object: Book Two, as well as a signed and framed limited edition print of any of the illustrations from The Object: Book One! ( Which, by the way, are awesome and evocative! )

#6. For a pledge of $500, you get reward #5, plus you will be written into The Object: Book Two for at least one episode! (How freaking awesome is THAT? )

#7. For a pledge of $1000, you get reward #6, plus a permanent spot on The Object Website to showcase or promote anything of your choosing ( as long as it is appropriate for a PG-13 audience ) AND you/your business/band/etc. will be incorporated in an awesome and favorable way in The Object: Book Two!!

How awesome it would be to be written into Winston's next book? I think that is so cool!!

I have spoken with Winston many times, and he is a really great guy, who, along with his team, have really thrown every last bit of themselves into this endeavor. You could be a part of literary history by going HERE and reading about the project, check out the official details and if you can, donate for the chance to help a great team of people see their dream come into fruition, and getting something awesome in return!

You can also stay updated with the Facebook Book Release and Giveaway event!

So there you have it! Be sure to go check out the Kickstarter campaign and share this post with your friends so they can have a chance to get in on this awesome opportunity!

Hello my lovelies!!

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Today has gotten off to a great start for me, and I am excited to point you towards a very special edition of the blog over at Samhain's Sirens.

There is a really excellent post that I feel sums up a lot of our experiences as Pagan people. We all read the books, do things by the books, and later, as we grow and become more comfortable, we begin to shape our practices and our faith to truly fit and represent us and who we are. Today's post is an excellent example of that.

There is a great recipe for spooky and yummy spiders, a wonderful song of the day and a great giveaway of an Athame pendant by the talented Eliora of Elegantly Enchanting.

As you may or may not know, in addition to the awesome daily giveaways during the week, there is a HUGE and awesome grand prize package at the end of the project.

Today we finally get a sneak peek at what that is! There are SO many amazing items and whomever wins will be a very happy person indeed!

So pop on over to today's BLOG POST and enter to win today's prize and to check out the big grand prize package!

Remember, every entry you make on the daily giveaways count as one entry into the grand prize giveaway! So in addition to upping your chances of winning the awesome daily prizes, you get bonus entries into the mac daddy prize at the end!

I am also excited to announce that I WON A PRIZE from this past Saturday's Craft-tacular Saturday! I won the gorgeous Scrying Mirror that I posted about on Saturday! I am so excited!

So hurry, go check it out, and go enter to win every day! The more you enter, the better your chances of winning daily prizes and the grand prize!
